JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an experienced TOOL PROGRAMMER who exhibits passion and curiosity in building complex systems and a desire to push the barriers of technology in video games. At Soliton Interactive you will work with some of the industry’s most exciting technology alongside talented individuals. Working across multiple projects, you will ensure the modernization of the animation tool pipeline within a proprietary 3D engine for an upcoming AAA next-gen game. You will work in collaboration with design, animation and developers to find technical solutions to help our partners achieve their vision.
As a TOOL PROGRAMMER, you will be responsible to:
- Work closely with cross-discipline teams including programmers, designers, etc.
- Implement software autonomously in C++.
- Modernize the animation tool pipeline within a 3D engine for a next-gen AAA game.
- Collaborate with artists, animators, and other developers to identify workflow inefficiencies and implement solutions.
- Develop and maintain tools for content creation and editing within the 3D engine.
- Utilize C++ programming skills to optimize tool performance and functionality.
- Coordinate and communicate with our partners’ creative and engineering teams.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
- Create design documentation according to team standards.
- Be an active participant in our code review process.
- Contribute positively to the achievement of the project and team objectives.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies related to game engine development and explore new and emerging technologies to improve the game development process.
EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer sciences, physics, mathematics; or equivalent
- Proficiency in C++ programming
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in tool programming.
- Contributions to at least one AAA title
OTHER SKILLS
- Excellent written and oral communication and good interpersonal skills to interact and collaborate with various people.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, in person and remotely.
- Ability to prioritize, plan, organize work, manage time, and work on time.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical, synthesis, and optimization skills
- Experience with the QT framework is desirable.
- Previous experience creating tools for 3D software.
- Familiarity with property grids is a plus.
